Rankin Williams Fieldhouse

Rankin Williams Fieldhouse

Rankin Williams Fieldhouse is the former home of SWOSU Basketball and Volleyball, serving as the home court of the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs from 1957-2014. The SWOSU Classic at the start of the 2013-14 season served as the 'Farewell to Rankin' but the final regular season games held in the building occurred on January 18, 2014 when SWOSU faced Ouachita Baptist.

The facility provides fans with a friendly and comfortable environment to watch all the SWOSU basketball and volleyball action. General admission bleacher seats pull out from the wall, allwoing up to 2,400 people to enjoy watching the Bulldogs play. In 2007, the court was named in honor of SWOSU's all-time leading scorer and current Associate Athletic Director Kelli Litsch, a four-time NAIA All-American and three-time NAIA National Tournament MVP in the 1980's.

Rankin Williams Fieldhouse was the home of five Lady Bulldog teams that claimed NAIA National Championships and several other national tournament qualifiers and conference champions. Several banners for SWOSU basketball teams adorn the walls of the fieldhouse, along with banners for the SWOSU rodeo team, which has also claimed six national championships (four men, two women).

Upgrades to the building in recent years have included a new sound system, new locker rooms, offices, classrooms and an exercise laboratory. Following the 2012 season, SWOSU Football relocated to a renovated area on the north end of Rankin Williams Fieldhouse that is now known as the 'Cecil Perkins Football Complex.' The football staff has offices in the complex along with multiple meeting rooms and the football locker room is located there as well.

In addition to serving as 'Home of the Bulldogs,' Rankin has been a soldout host for several OSSAA area boys and girls high school state tournament and playoff contests. Both gyms within the Fieldhouse are now used primarily for academics within the Department of Kinesiology with SWOSU teams still using them for practice when necessary.
